(Continued from page 1) “Coober Pedy, Lake Eyre, Innamincka & Arkaroola 2012 Floodwater special” Mondays departure. Minimum number of 4 persons. We will run this tour for two persons but a flight component surcharge must be charged.

Includes all meals: Morning tea, lunch, accommodation (twin share), breakfast (continental) main course evening meals (menu selection) 4hr. 4WD Arkaroola Ridge top tour & William Creek to Arkaroola via Innamincka scenic flight (4 share). Day 1 6.30am. Depart from your Adelaide CBD accommodation we DRIVE by 4WD Nissan Patrol Station Wagon north from Adelaide to Bungama (near Pt. Pirie) for morning tea, then on to Pt. Augusta for a pit stop & leg stretch. Woomera for lunch (Spud’s roadhouse Pimba) and a tour around Woomera and the open air museum before heading off to Lake Hart, one of the prettiest salt lakes around. A pit stop at Glendambo before we arrive at Coober Pedy approx 5.00 pm.
We pass through Coober Pedy & head out to the Breakaways to take advantage of the colour change as the sun sinks low in the western sky. Then it’s through the Breakaways Reserve across the moon plain along the Dingo fence and Oodnadatta road to Coober Pedy. o/n Opal Inn Coober Pedy.
Day 2 8.00 am. Local tour of Coober Pedy starting with the Big Winch lookout and underground Catholic church. Visit the Amoona Mine where you will find out all about opals with a short film on Opal mining. After lunch we depart for William Creek across Anna Creek Station, visit Lake Cadibarrawirracanna (longest placename in Australia, Lake Caddi for short) Look around William Creek o/n William Creek Hotel or Caravan Park cabins. (keep an eye out for small planes taxiing down the main road).
Day3 8.00 am. FLY, from William Creek over the expanse of Lake Eyre to the Warburton Creek / Groove (see floodwater entering Lake Eyre), overfly Mungerannie on the Birdsville Track, across the Strzelecki Desert and the Cooper Creek Valley (floodwater & wildflowers) to Innamincka for lunch at the Innamincka Hotel. After lunch FLY from Innamincka down Strzelecki Creek (possibly in flood), over Lake Blanche & Lake Callabonna. The Northern Flinders Ranges rise spectacularly from the plains as you approach Arkaroola with a view of Lake Frome to the east. o/n at Arkaroola.
Day4 8.00 am. DRIVE this morning, with your feet back on the ground you join the famous Arkaroola Ridgetop tour for a spectacular 4 hour 4WD experience as the tour takes you over some of the most awe inspiring country in Australia. After lunch at Arkaroola we are off on a scenic tour to Rawnsley Park Station (Wilpena Pound) via The Old Copper Mining town of Blinman & the Flinders Ranges National Park. o/n Rawnsley Park ensuite Cabins situated at the base of Wilpena Pound. Day 5 8.00 am. DRIVE Rawnsley Park (time for an optional 30 minute scenic flight) to Hawker via Bunyeroo Valley / gorge, the Aroona Valley & Brachina gorge (morning tea) and on to Hawker for lunch. After lunch we travel back to Adelaide via Orroroo, Jamestown & Care Valley. Arrive Adelaide approx 6.30pm.
